Beef and Potato Bake with Cheese Sauce
vxdaThis baked delicacy is a real treat for gourmets! The combination of flavorful beef, mild potatoes, and smooth cheese sauce, baked to a golden color, will satisfy everyone. Easy to make, perfect for a family meal.
Ingredients
For the beef and potatoes
- 500 g beef mince
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 pinch pepper
- 1 pcs shallot
- 2 pcs garlic
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tsp sweet paprika
- 1 tbsp worcestershire sauce
- 240 ml beef stock
- 4 pcs potato
For the cheese sauce
- 240 ml heavy cream
- 2 tbsp creme fraiche
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 pinch nutmeg
- ½ tsp mustard
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 pinch pepper
For sprinkling
- 150 g cheddar
- 100 g cheddar
- 1 tbsp parsley

In a skillet, brown the ground beef until it's nicely browned. Season with salt and pepper.

Add the chopped shallot and sauté for 2–3 minutes.

Add the minced garlic cloves and sauté for 30 seconds.

Combine with tomato paste and sweet paprika. Sauté for 1 minute.

Add Worcestershire sauce (optional) and beef broth. Simmer over low heat for 7 minutes.

Turn off the heat. Slice the potatoes into thin rounds and spread them in layers over the meat. Season lightly with salt.

Prepare the cheese sauce: in a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream, crème fraîche (or sour cream), and butter.

Add a pinch of nutmeg and a small amount of mustard. Heat, stirring, until the sauce is smooth and warm, but do not let it boil.

Season the sauce with salt and pepper. Pour it over the potatoes.

Sprinkle with grated white cheddar, followed by orange cheddar (or other cheeses that you like).

Place in a preheated oven at 180°C and bake for 45–60 minutes, until the potatoes are cooked through and the top is golden and bubbly.
