Ingredients
- 450 g ground beef
- 2 tbsp butter
- ½ pcs onion
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 pinch pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 710 ml beef broth
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 1 tsp worcestershire sauce
- 227 g egg noodle
- 60 ml heavy cream
- 113 g cheddar cheese
Instructions
- 1
Brown the ground beef in a large skillet, breaking it apart as it cooks. If you're using a leaner ground beef, there may not be much grease to remove; otherwise, use a paper towel to soak up any extra fat.
- 2
Add butter to the skillet containing the cooked ground beef. Once it has melted, add the diced onion and sauté until it becomes tender.
- 3
Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Mix in the flour, cooking for about 1 minute.
- 4
Pour in the beef broth, making sure to scrape any browned bits off the bottom of the pan.
- 5
Incorporate the tomato ketchup and Worcestershire sauce, stirring thoroughly.
- 6
Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, then incorporate the egg noodles. Stir thoroughly to ensure the noodles are fully immersed.
- 7
Turn the heat down to low, cover the skillet, and let it simmer for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking, until the noodles are cooked through and have soaked up the majority of the liquid.
- 8
Take off heat. Mix in the heavy cream and shredded cheddar cheese, stirring until the cheese is completely melted and evenly distributed.
- 9
Cover the skillet and allow it to rest for 5 minutes before serving, which will allow the sauce to thicken slightly and the flavors to meld together.
